Arvostelun kirjoittanut: Q8165MDdanmA memorable stay made special by the amazing staff
We had a really lovely stay at Golden Coast Hotel on Marathon Beach.
There were a couple of small niggles with the room at the start, but what really stood out was how well everything was handled. The staff were genuinely so helpful, friendly, and welcoming throughout our stay.
A special mention has to go to Aliki on reception and Michopoulos, the manager, who were both unbelievably helpful and really made the trip feel special and memorable.
The location is beautiful, right on the beachfront, with lovely sea views and mountains in the background. It has such a relaxed holiday feel, and by the end of the trip we were genuinely sad to leave.
Overall, we had an amazing time and really miss it already. Thank you to the team at Golden Coast for making our stay such a positive one.
Arvostelun kirjoittanut: jacobdV6782RLSolid all inclusive holiday. Would reccomend
If you don't care much for modern looking rooms and prefer the sunshine and easy going of an all inclusive holiday, then this is a top notch place.
Rooms:
You can definitely call it outdated, but the beds were good enough to sleep on, and the sheets were replaced/cleaned regularly throughout my 5 night stay. The bathroom is good with a shower/bath combo as you would expect anywhere else (towels included). Most important part of any room in a hot country is the A/C (especially if your used to rain like me in the UK), and it worked absolutely perfectly. Kept the room nice and cool all day. Mattress could be a bit softer but that's just me being picky, and quite frankly we all have different preferences. A solid 6/10, not amazing, but far from bad.
Food/all inclusive package:
Food was brilliant, lots and lots of choices, with a buffet style approach. You simply go up and get whatever you fancy (within the time frames they give you) and there is no limit to how much you can have, so long as your not a greedy bugger. Lots of ice cream consumed, wine/beer taps are brilliant, and the free cocktails are far from dissapointing If you like the classics (using any branded alcohol or soda brands will cost you as a pre warning). Breakfast is usually from 6:30-10:00, lunch 13:00-15:00, and dinner from 19:30 - 22:30. Snacks between the eating times are at the bars near the pools and again are all included. There are 2 resteraunts to choose from, both serve the same food but provide a bit of flexibility if you dont want to walk too far. I rate it a solid 9/10. (Kids food are marked clear in the resteraunts, and consist of mainly pizza, chicken nuggets and a few other standard bits you would expect)
Entertainment:
Now for me i couldn't give a poo about the entertainment, but I understand that people have kids and want them to be happy. If you are not French, prepare for a 99% dedicated French entertainment program that does not waiver in language that much. The staff are welcoming and speak various languages, but French is what they prioritise. So, just think carefully if entertainment is a big thing for you, as unless your French I doubt you Will enjoy it. HOWEVER, they have various sporting activities you can do, like table tennis (very fun), normal tennis (lots of courts), water sports at a price, football, darts, etc. That part of entertainment is very inclusive and quite fun if you are up for it. But I will still have to give a low rating for this side of the resort, 4/10 at a push.
Location:
For me, its absolutely fantastic. 3 pools, lots of sunshine, and the best part is the beach: a stunning view, id especially reccomend either early morning (opens at 6:30am) or later in the evening (closes at midnight) for the best views. Bars at every pool and near the beach, with clear pathways that lead you to where you need to go. Not a million miles from athens either, was about €100 for a return taxi to athens for a day, and it is definitely worth it. The hotel staff will help organise, and will call the taxi for a time and day of your choosing. Solid 10/10.
Summary:
If your going with a mate like i did, absolutely worth spending the extra on all inclusive. Great views, great sun, brilliant resort for a nice relaxing holiday. All in all, id rate it a good 7.5/10, or in this case 4 stars out of 5. Always some improvements that could be made with the beds and rooms, and especially with the entertainment, but other than that its great.
Arvostelun kirjoittanut: V2305PXgarrymIf you are not French or happen to be of African descent stay away!
By far the worst resort experience I have ever had. The staff is unfriendly, unhelpful and in many instances downright rude. As an African American family including 2 little boys, traveling with an Indo Caribbean family it was clear we were not welcomed. Any request was treated as a bother. This included asking for something to drink. The children frequently returned for parental assistance for simple asks such as to borrow ping pong rackets or gulf putters. Treatment outside of the resort was much better except that it was brought to my attention by another family that we were the only family fingerprinted at the airport upon arrival. That clearly did not sit well with me. Greece was on my wife’s wishlist but this will be a one and done for us. I will say that if you happen to not be French DO NOT go to this resort. All activities for some reason were only done in and catered to the French.
