Everything as espected. Friendly stuff, clean rooms, nice playground. Enough pools for everyone
I am not a fussy person but I have to say this hotel was a disappointment in so many ways, it mostly ruined what could’ve been a lovely experience. Usually we are so comfortable we don’t want to leave the complex, we were looking for things to do outside and away. The price paid did not align, appalling no value for money. Food was basic and nasty bland Same food no change up DRINKS were watery Alcohol completely watered down, no way there was normal amount of alcohol in them. If you wanted a proper alcoholic beverage, there is a charge Drinks were also limited to about 3 on the menu, ready made watery crap Service wasn’t good, but not terrible Think 2 star holiday in Majorca and you’ll get a rough idea. Hotel room was very low standard and we had premium room Basic cheap and low quality for high price I hate that I had to write this type of review but hopefully it’ll save some others booking
We’ve just returned from seven nights stay at this hotel and wanted to write an honest fair review. We are in English family consisting of two adults and two children age 13 and 9. We booked this hotel as we wanted to do something a little bit different. We’ve been used to going to all inclusive hotels where you don’t really go out of the resort and you could be anywhere. This seemed a little bit different as it was on the beach and it was walking distant to Cavtat. The hotel was full board plus and that suited us as we knew we wanted to go out for some meals and drinks at night. We alsobooked the hotel as we saw that it had interconnecting rooms which meant that the girls had their own bedroom essentially and bathroom, but we could the door and they could come through to our room and we could go into this whenever we chose the other bonus of the room was the beautiful sea view we were in block a where the interconnecting rooms are we had a balcony at the back of the hotel which looked over the sea and it was beautiful. The rooms were relatively clean each day the maids would come around and they would give you fresh towels. If you requested them to do this you have to ensure your towel was not hung up on a peg, as they don’t replace them if you don’t need them to. When you left your towel on the bed or in the bathroom in the shower for example they would change them for you on the other occasion that it hadn’t got changed. I asked and they were more than happy to do this for us. The room was hoovered every day as strangely it has got a carpet in there and the rooms looked more like a business type of hotel room than a holiday hotel room I guess because of the carpet but there was plenty of storage space and drawers and everything that you would need including a small balcony with the table and chairs. We were more than happy with the room and the location was easily to get down to the restaurant and also to the beach area some lounges. The food in the hotel was lovely. We really enjoyed it. There was a good mix of dishes and whilst there was plentyof things that were repeated for example, pancakes at breakfast croissants salad there were also plenty of the dishes that we enjoyed whilst we were there including steak swordfish chicken, turkey steaks and lots of different Croatian dishes and salads that the chef prepared. The restaurant does have a little bit of a canteen feel to it, lots of people busy times going up to the buffet to get their food and rushing about however if you time it right it’s not normally that bad and there was always plenty of food available. In the evening we sat out on the terrace for a couple of meals which gave it that holiday feel and it was lovely to look at the sunset over the sea in the evening. The one thing that we said was that whilst the restaurant was lovely and clean and the food was available There didn’t always seem to be enough staff waiting on the tables to clear plates and cutlery away and so sometimes when you’d finished your plate for example it wasn’t always taken away. The other thing that we noticed is that it is a three star hotel and so whilst the rooms and the food were of a really good standard there were a few areas around the hotel that we felt could been better. This included the pool and pool bar areas as these were very busy and seem to just get a little bit grubby most evenings and sometimes in the morning you would see remnants of glasses and plates scattered around the footpaths around the beach area are not brilliant. There’s lots of holes and rubble stones even raised manhole that we saw lots of people tripping over and this kind of lets the appearance of the hotel down. The other thing that was a problem on the first few days we arrived were that the sunbeds particularly the ones on the front row by the beach area we’re always reserved with towels first thing in the morning. I looked out of my window at 6:31 day and the front row some beds were all taken and reserved with towels. Towards latter end of the week they did appear to put out more sunbeds. It seems they do have quite a supply of them but weren’t readily available when we first arrived. The beach isn’t a private beach and so lots of people do come onto the site and possibly use the sunbeds too, sobe mindful of that. We always got a sunbed with a parasol, although we preferred to be in a quieter area away from the big groups of people as I don’t particularly like lying on a sunbed directly next to somebody else. We went into the town on a couple of occasions which was lovely but most of the restaurants or serve exactly the same food there wasn’t anyone that particularly stood out it’s quite expensive there were lots of yachts and more and obviously it’s an up market town. We also tried the local gelato and crêpes that were available in the town and these were really reasonable only 2 to €3 or something like this. We did go to beach Zal next door to the hotel on a couple of occasions this is a public beach that have a large inflatable that the kids like to play on. You can also hire some beds for a daily rate and they do a deal where you can hire sunbeds a parasol and go on the inflatable for the day for €65. We headed out to this beach in the late afternoon as it was extremely hot whilst we were there and there is always a to be had and you can negotiate the price the second time we went to Beach thou they offered us to sunbed the use of the inflatable and a parasol €30 for the remainder of the day. It was such good fun for the kids the drinks and food at the Little hut on the beach and really reasonable and cheap and staff were friendly and willing to help. I would definitely recommend this if you go with kids. Overall we had a lovely relaxing holiday. We enjoyed the food. The room was perfect for us as a family and we really enjoyed the and being able to access the beach quickly and easily whilst also being able to walk back to our room to freshen up as needed. We also hired paddleboard from the watersport Centre at the hotel. This was really good fun but again a little bit on the more expensive side at €20 for an hour. The downsides was the slightly grubbiness of the exterior of the hotel and the areas around the hotel that needs some work. They definitely could do with a few more extra staff just to help keep the place tidy and a little bit cleaner on the exterior certainly around The other downside although it didn’t really affect us is that the animation team is mainly directed at the French, we knew this when we booked it our kids are not really that bothered about it but if you’re a family or couple of want to be entertained in the evenings then this isn’t ideal. Unless you speak French! We said as a family that we would love to go back to Cavtat but I don’t think we would necessarily stay here again.
We are d’atteint in this hôtel box and The full-board option feels a little too expensive for what is offered. At this price, we would expect to enjoy more meals at the hotel, but in reality, we hardly eat there anymore. The value for money of the full-board package could definitely be improved.
