After reading lots of reviews before coming here, we had quite mixed expectations. Overall, the hotel was okay, but unfortunately I don’t think we would stay here again. We arrived at around 2am, so we were absolutely exhausted and just wanted to get to bed. We had booked a Superior Room through On the Beach, but when we got into the room, we were really surprised because it looked completely different from the photos advertised. The room was probably around a quarter of the size of the one shown online. We questioned this and were told that because our room had a rear-facing balcony, we had been given the correct room🤷🏻♀️ We probably should have pushed this further, but at 2am we were too tired and just left it. The room itself was very clean, as was the rest of the hotel, and the air conditioning was lovely throughout most of our stay — definitely needed in the Benidorm heat! The location is one of the better things about the hotel. If you want to be near the Old Town, it’s great. It’s around a 12–15 minute walk to the beach and roughly 35–40 minutes to the strip/New Town, so just bear that in mind depending on what you want from your holiday. The staff were also very friendly throughout our stay, although we did find the bar arrangements a little frustrating. You can’t get a drink from the bar until 11am, and during our stay it often didn’t actually open until around 11:10–11:20. So if you have breakfast at 8:30am, you’re then going several hours without being able to get a drink from the bar. There is a water tap available all the time, which is useful. There also only seemed to be one member of staff working at each bar at any given time, so there was usually a queue. The bars also have signs saying they close for 30 minutes for staff breaks, which is completely understandable, but it seemed to happen quite often that we would come down and find the bar closed. One time we stood waiting for around 5–10 minutes thinking the bar had closed, before realising that Guimello, one of the bar staff, was sitting in the back room on his phone. Maybe we were just unlucky with the timing, but similar things happened a few times during our stay. The food was probably what we expected for a 3-star hotel. There was something for everyone, particularly if you’re a fussy eater, with things like chips and nuggets always available. We’re quite adventurous eaters, but even we found some of the options, such as pig trotters in sauce, a bit of a push! 😂 After five days we were definitely ready for something different, so I personally couldn’t imagine staying for much longer than a week. One thing we did really enjoy was the ice cream machine, which was available at both lunch and dinner. If you’re looking for somewhere to spend most of your holiday relaxing around the hotel and pool, I probably wouldn’t recommend it. The rooftop pool is very small — I’d say around eight people could comfortably fit in it. The larger pool shown in some of the booking photos is actually across the road at a sister hotel, and even that pool isn’t particularly big. On our final day, the air conditioning in our room also stopped working completely while we were packing. It became very muggy in the room, which wasn’t ideal. I’m not sure whether it had been switched off because it was check-out day or whether it was just a fault, but it was unfortunate timing. Overall, we didn’t have a terrible stay. The hotel is clean, the staff are friendly and the location is good, especially if you want to be close to the Old Town. However, between the room not looking anything like the advertised Superior Room, the small pool facilities, the bar opening arrangements and a few other little things, it just didn’t live up to what we were expecting. It was okay for five nights, but personally I wouldn’t never stay here again👀
Hotel was clean and staff friendly and rooms are modern, however over all very disappointed in the service we received. The hotel misleads you on a lot of info when booking. For example, the roof top bar (which only takes 8 people at a time) is the ONLY all inclusive bar on site, the lower level pool you have to pay for drinks, this is really poor considering its the only shaded area in the hotel. The extension of all inclusive on the final day is advertised everywhere for £10- however when you ask for this you will be informed this is for drinks only and meals are an extra £14 per meal per person- again very misleading. When budgeting for the hotel its not clear and left us out of pocket! Also no fridge in the room so if you want to keep water in the room there is nowhere to keep it cool.
Beautiful hotel , within walking distance of old town , some shops and beautiful restaurants . Lovely staff
Do not use this hotel. It’s awful. Its decor is dated and there is mould in most rooms (especially around their con unit) therefore, you’re breathing in toxic mould. The so called roof top pool is a large bacteria infested jucuzzi. No shade or parasols provided. Sun-beds are so old and disgusting. Bar is not staffed most of the time. Drinks are of poor quality. The other pool (main pool) advertised is over the road (in a gated prison) shared with many other hotels with bar, but you have to pay for your drink! (even though it’s all inclusive). Alternatively, you can get dressed every time you want a drink and go back to the hotel! I didn’t want to try the snacks as they were just out in the sun all day. The food was okay. Very disappointing . I complained about the mould as I have asthma so was experiencing issues breathing but was told that they had no room to move me to (as also offered as an empty suggestion to many other guests who were experiencing leaks, mould, etc etc
