My Honest Review of Akka Antedon, Kemer Following the recommendation of our travel agency, we decided to visit Akka Antedon Resort during the first week of August. The hotel is about 40 minutes from Antalya Airport, and honestly, the journey did not feel long at all. As soon as we entered the hotel lobby, the first thing that caught our attention was the very outdated decoration. The reception area, including the counter and cabinets, looked like something straight out of the early 2000s 😂. To be completely honest, I panicked a little at that moment and started worrying about the quality of the hotel and whether it would live up to what had been told to us about the resort. Another thing that surprised me was that after checking in, we were not given wristbands, unlike the other resorts we have stayed at. The girl who welcomed us was very polite. After completing the check-in procedure, we left our luggage and went down to -1, to the spa area, to change. 🧖♀️ SPA – 10/10 The spa area was actually excellent and very well renovated. I would definitely give it a 10/10. There was a bio sauna, Finnish sauna, steam room and Turkish hammam. Clean towels were always available and never seemed to run out. The massage girls were also very kind and professional. 🍽️ Main Restaurant The buffet area had recently been renovated and was divided into several different sections. It was so large and spread out that even until our last day, we were still confused about which part we had already seen and which part we hadn’t 😂. Food Overall, the food was good. There was a nice variety of meat and seafood, much of which was prepared fresh in front of you and changed regularly. However, the dessert and fruit sections were quite repetitive and limited, especially the desserts. For example, I didn’t see different types of biscuits or cookies at breakfast even once during our stay. Service & hygiene Since we were travelling during a very busy period, the waiters were clearly trying to clean the tables as quickly as possible. However, the lack of proper hygiene was noticeable. Tables were not properly disinfected. They were simply wiped quickly with a wet cloth, which, in my opinion, is not acceptable for a hotel of this standard. And the flies… so many flies! 😩 They were everywhere, both inside and outside the restaurant. Please do something about this. The waiters would come to take drink orders, but quite often they would forget the order, bring the wrong drink, or simply never come back. They were also not very attentive when it came to offering another drink. You often had to make eye contact and actively try to get their attention. 🛏️ Rooms – 9/10 The rooms were renovated, spacious and comfortable, with a large bathroom. Housekeeping came every day, clean towels and bathrobes were always provided, and whenever we needed anything in the room, I simply called reception and the housekeeping team came very quickly. No complaints about the rooms at all. 🏊♀️ Pools & Outdoor Area The outdoor area was fantastic. The resort has a very large property, big pools and plenty of sun loungers. The one thing that didn’t work for us was that the pool water was constantly very cold. Another major disappointment was the complete lack of pool/beach service. No waiter came to take orders. You basically had to get everything yourself. Last year, we stayed at Rubi Platinum in Alanya, and I honestly expected Akka Antedon to be even better. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. At Rubi Platinum, waiters were constantly checking if you needed anything, bringing drinks, fruit or dried fruit directly to your sun lounger. At Akka, I didn’t experience this even once. For almost everything, you had to get up and go and get it yourself. That said, the guys working at the bar were very friendly and quick whenever we went to them with a request. Another weak point was cleanliness. Empty glasses and bottles could stay around the pool area for hours, sometimes until around 7 PM, without being collected. The floor around the pool was also not washed properly with enough water, which meant that insects would often gather around the area. Please pay a little more attention to cleanliness and maintenance. With such a beautiful setting, surrounded by trees and birds, this place could become an incredible relaxing experience for guests. 🌊 Beach – 8/10 The beach was relatively good, although there was nothing particularly impressive in terms of investment or design. The sun loungers and umbrellas definitely need to be replaced. The sea itself, however, was absolutely fantastic — crystal clear and warm. Just make sure to bring water shoes, because the beach is quite rocky. 👶 Kids Club – 10/10 This definitely deserves a 10/10 because it was the one area of Akka Antedon that was 100% worth it for us. Our 3-year-old absolutely loved it! ❤️ The girls working there were fantastic, especially those responsible for activities for the 2–4 age group. They were kind, attentive and really great with the children. 🎶 Entertainment The atmosphere was quite quiet and underwhelming, both during the day and in the evening. If you’re looking for a peaceful resort where you can relax and sleep early, then this is a good choice. However, if you are looking for entertainment, music and a lively atmosphere, I would recommend choosing another resort, because by around 10:30 PM, almost everything is finished. 💰 Overall experience & value for money Compared with Rubi Platinum, which was around €500 cheaper than Akka Antedon, I have to say I was disappointed because my expectations were much higher. Akka Antedon is not a bad resort at all. It has some really strong points, especially the rooms, spa, kids club, location and beautiful outdoor areas. However, for the price we paid, I expected better service, better cleanliness and a more lively atmosphere. 💡 Suggestions for the hotel I would strongly suggest placing a hotel map and a schedule of all meal times and facilities in the rooms, including the spa, kids club, patisserie, restaurants, etc. Better and clearer information for guests would make the whole experience much easier. ⭐ Final Ratings * Location: 9/10 * Food: 9/10 * Beach: 8/10 * Service: 6/10 * Rooms: 9/10 * Kids Club: 10/10 * Pools: 8/10 * Spa: 10/10 * Value for money: 7/10 * Cleanliness: 7/10 * Would I recommend it to others? 6/10 Overall: Akka Antedon has a lot of potential and some genuinely excellent facilities, but for the price we paid, I expected a higher level of service, cleanliness and entertainment. The biggest positives for us were definitely the spa, rooms, kids club, food and beautiful outdoor area. The biggest negatives were the pool/beach service, cleanliness, flies and lack of evening entertainment.
