We are just back from 6 nights at the los amigos beach club. It was the most amazing holiday. We arrived at 1am and there was a lovely guy in the reception who warmly welcomed us and explained all to us. We had a fabulous room on the 2nd floor overlooking the main pool. The hotel and rooms are immaculate and the pool area is kept so clean. The lifeguards are very attentive and helpful and as we couldn't get a bed at the pool the 1st morning, directed us to another pool area, which I particularly loved. There is so many different things to do at the pool so for 2 days we didn't leave as the kids were so entertained. There is a shop and 2 restaurants on site. We had a self catering package so availed of the odd pizza and toastie but the kitchenette we had was so well equipped we were able to cook ourselves. The staff are fantastic, the grounds are kept so well. There was activities for young and old and there is an area called the cube, keep an eye out for Spanish lessons, pilates and other special events held weekly. Fungireola is only a short taxi journey away and will set you back about 12e one way and there is a taxi rank at the entrance to the complex. We did get the bus one day but it was so extremely hot we didn't want to be hanging around as the bus isn't on time all that much. There is a few shops in the Mijas area and enough to explore for a stroll.We will certainly be returning next year with more family. Thank you for a wonderful experience .

My friends and I just returned from a 3 night stay yesterday, and we had the best time! On arrival we had an early check-in so we could get into the apartment immediately, this was so welcomed after the flight, so we could freshen up. The three-bedroom apartment was so spacious and immaculately clean, on the ground floor just a few steps from the pool was the perfect location, and the benefit of our own sun loungers was so convenient. All the staff at Los Amigos Beach Club are so friendly and helpful, the reception team helped us book dinner reservations and order taxis, and the pool bar servers were good and lots of fun. We would all definitely return to holiday here again, as we honestly couldn’t fault this property, thank you again.

I have to say this is the best equipped apartment we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in a lot over the years Normally we have to go shopping for essentials but all we needed to buy was milk! There’s a water filter next to the tap so no need for drinking water there’s also washing up liquid kitchen roll dishwasher pods and washing machine pods ( you get both machines) there’s toiletries in the bathroom ( shower gel/shampoo body lotion hand wash) there’s even an ironing board and iron ! It was home from home All the staff are extremely helpful and courteous from the reception staff and bar staff ,maintenance guys and even the gardeners everyone was so nice and we had a fabulous holiday so much so we’ve booked again for next year! The only negative was if you want more nightlife it’s a short taxi ride or there’s a bus you can catch to Fuengirola or La Cala de mijas we did both although we preferred La Cala to Fuengirola There is a few bars a short walk away also The restaurant at the hotel serves excellent food throughout the day and there’s nightly entertainment on Can’t wait to go back !

I love LABC, been going for decades, however since it’s been taken over by Hilton GVC (previously a Diamond Resort) it seems to have let things slide. The reception staff are amazing and always try and help, but I don’t think they clean as regularly as before, neither inside apartments or around the site. As a member there are extra events, we attended a cocktail making session… but it was Sangria… our expectations were of different cocktails. Last year we attended the cheese and wine, but we were served little bits in Ikea children’s plastic bowls and there was no cutlery, that we needed… so we didn’t go this year. Bird poop was rife around the site, there are many nests, which I suppose they can’t get rid of, but it was left on corridors piling up for days, that you couldn’t avoid and suitcases wheeling through it. Again, as members last year we got a complimentary toiletry pack, this year I couldn’t even get a shower cap. They’ve taken away all the tables and chairs from the pool bar, so just left high bar stools, but there was no atmosphere there and only one person serving, very half-heartedly, who kept disappearing for 20 minutes or so at a time (cigarette breaks). In years gone by the pool bar was where everyone congregated and chatted for happy hour, now there is none, no cocktail of the day, no chatting or relationship building… such a shame. The Suncare lady used to come around every few days as well, didn’t see anyone once. There was no welcome meeting by the pool as in previous years either. I’ve booked for next year as it’s so restful and like home from home, but if this was my main holiday I wouldn’t be impressed. The Indian / Italian fusion restaurant on site does great food / pizzas, has a pool table and serves beer in iced glasses… so that’s great, although it’s a bit uncomfortable knowing there are people living in very cramped conditions behind a fake partition wall in the restaurant. On the plus side the palm trees looked great and they were actively taking the dead leaves off while we were there.

I have to share this. We were on holiday and we were enjoying a drink outside the Azura Restaurant. What we witnessed was totally out of order. We listened to a member of staff who we found out later being the head chef of the restaurant being disciplined infront of everyone. We heard everything that was being said. It seems he was being bullied by 2 senior staff. We visited the restaurant almost every night and it seems despite this chef being passionate about his job he was being told none of the other chefs like him. He was sacked on the spot. This is terrible I really feel for him to be treated like this for everyone to hear. We have been back to the restaurant since and I do have to admit the food has gone down hill. Cold and to be honest tasteless. It seems the other chefs were jealous because they can't cook like the one they have sacked. I will not holiday again there. Will never go anywhere where the staff are treated in such a disgusting way. I wish the chef all the best and hope he finds a job somewhere. Any restaurant will be lucky to have him.
