As an ex independent travel agent, I highly recommend Club Cala Blanca I’ve seen a lot of posts on social media about this place so I wanted to share our experience and clear a few things up. The big worries people mention: - Cockroaches: Not one. Seriously. Not in the apartment, not on the balcony, not by the pool. For such a hot country I was genuinely surprised and really happy about that. - Deposit: 100€ deposit on check-in. It’s returned to you at check-out. - Shops: There’s a small shop at the pool and another just outside the hotel for basics. - The hill: Yes, it’s a big one. I’d highly recommend renting a car and asking reception about parking. Walking down takes about 15 minutes and there’s even a little dirt track that cuts 10 minutes off. Going up in the heat though is tough. Not ideal for anyone with mobility issues. We walked down and grabbed a taxi back up for 5€. Best decision ever. - Sun lounger wars: None. This place is so relaxed. No one putting towels down at 6am. We got a bed every day and the pool area was always clean. - Lifts: All working perfectly. *Staff and service* From the moment we arrived the staff were warm and welcoming. Reception to housekeeping, everyone was smiling and genuinely happy to help. The WhatsApp contact with reception was brilliant. Need something? Just text them. We’ve never had staff check in on us so often and so kindly. Thank you to all of you. *Pool, food and entertainment* Plenty of sun beds, all comfortable. Pool snacks are standard holiday fare: burgers, chicken, fries. Happy hour runs 10:30 to 18:30, 6.90€ for 2 beers and other cocktails available too. Daytime entertainment for kids and bingo. Maria is an absolute gem, had us all laughing. We didn’t see any evening entertainment, but we were out a lot so might have missed it. *The shop and groceries* On-site shop is handy for crisps, drinks and ice creams but not always fully stocked and it’s pricey. I’d really recommend hiring a car and heading to Mogán. There’s an Aldi there which is much better for families and cooking in the apartment. *Location and things to do* I don’t agree with people saying “there’s nothing here”. At the bottom you’ve got bars, shops, restaurants, an arcade, and live shows at the all-inclusive hotel that are open to the public too. There’s also a small water park, 19€ each. Our boys 15 and 16 loved it. No big queues, we spent the whole day and food/drink prices were reasonable. We took a packed lunch too. There’s a free shuttle from the hotel during the day but we didn’t use it because we liked exploring Taurito on foot. The 2 beach bars down the bottom were a highlight. Food, drink, staff and atmosphere were second to none. We went most nights and once in the day, and service was amazing every single time. *Overall* Club Cala Blanca felt relaxed, clean, and genuinely welcoming. Yes there’s a hill, but with a car and the occasional 5€ taxi it’s totally manageable. We felt looked after the whole stay and we’re hopefully looking to come back. Thank you to the whole team!
Excellent place to stay for holidays. They did everything they could to satisfy us.
