We arrived early in the morning, the hotels were around nine in the morning. We had to pay a little extra at the reception for check-in, but we got a beautiful room on the top floor with a partial view of the sea, the beauty was incredible, in the mornings we drank coffee on the balcony and admired the sunrises. The room itself is spacious, the furniture is not new, of course, but quite sturdy, everything worked: the air conditioner reliably saved us from the midday heat, the plumbing didn't leak, and the maid cleaned every day, leaving funny towel figures, for which we always left her a tip. The hotel grounds are compact, very well-kept, green, and clean—someone is constantly trimming the bushes and washing the paths. The beach is a separate pride of the hotel. It is sandy, spacious, with easy access to the water, which is a rare thing for many Egyptian coasts. It's true, there weren't always enough sun loungers by the sea if you arrived after nine in the morning, so we took spots early. There is a coral reef nearby, albeit small, but there are many fish swimming—masks and snorkels were useful to us from the very first days. The food in the main restaurant is normal, we definitely weren't left hungry, but the choice of dishes is a bit monotonous by the end of the week. But there were always fresh vegetables, several types of meat and fish, delicious pastries, and seasonal fruits: dates, melons, and grapes. The standard alcohol for "all-inclusive" in Egypt is okay, the beer is not bad in bottles, but it's better to bring strong drinks from duty-free. Of course, it was boring sitting in the hotel complex all day, so we planned trips in advance. The hotel guide started scaring with some scary stories about insurance and quoting astronomical prices for tours upon meeting. After listening to experienced tourists in reviews, we decided to look for an alternative online and didn't miss. It is better to book tours with a local organizer, whom we easily found via the search "Mahmud Hurghada" on the VKontakte social network. His prices were several times lower than the tour operator's, the selection of programs is huge, and the organizational aspects are top-notch. A huge plus is that you don't have to make any prepayment when booking; payment is made on the bus or before the trip starts, which is incredibly convenient and builds trust. All the guides speak Russian excellently, are very knowledgeable, present the information interestingly, and are always ready to answer any questions. With Mahmud, we booked two amazing trips that made our vacation unforgettable. The first is a tour of Cairo in a mini-group of up to eight people with an individual guide. We absolutely did not want to travel in a huge forty-person bus with a crowd of tourists, but here we got almost a VIP format: a comfortable minibus with air conditioning, the guide's attention only to our small group, no queues or rushing. The Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, and the Egyptian Museum were deeply impressive; the emotions will last a lifetime. The second trip was to the Coral Reserve Sharm El Naga, and it is a real paradise for lovers of the underwater world! The beauty of the corals and the diversity of the underwater fauna there are simply fantastic, we swam there for hours. On the same day, we had a planned city tour, during which the guide took us to the state pharmacy and a specialized store. There we were able to calmly, without nerves, buy quality Egyptian oils and certified medicines at fixed state prices, without a tourist markup. Overall, the vacation was a huge success. AMC Royal Hotel & Spa 5* is great for a quiet beach vacation if you don't expect ultra-luxury service, and the competent organization of trips through local specialists allowed us to save on the budget and see the real Egypt.
We really enjoyed our vacation here. The food, animation, and staff here were good and kind, and the rooms were clean and tidy.
The hotel is wonderful, the grounds are convenient, which is very important when with children. There are many entertainments for children. The diet is varied, no one will be hungry.
