Booked with on the beach tour operator. Arrived at Antalya airport and went to find my shuttle transfer. When asked where to find it just got pointed at the direction with no intention to actually someone walking me to the exact Atik tours. When got to right shuttle window got asked by this woman if I am traveling alone with a judgemental smirk and told to follow my transfer man. Got into a car and the whole car journey he said no word. Got to the hotel ok. Been told to speak to the on the beach tour operator. He wanted me to come over, he was rushing me to see him. And all he seems to care was to sell me his trips but nothing about the area. He asked me if I have children or husband and was shocked that I am alone and not married and childless. I felt very judged. So I showed my interest on one of the boat trips and told him I will come and see him after my grandparents arrive, he gave me £35 per person for a boat trip he said he will do £5 cheaper for all of us. So I said I will come and speak to him tomorrow when I have more time as wanted to speak to grandparents, see them and talk to them about the trip. My grandparents are in their eighties and struggle to walk far. They wanted to go to the beach first and catch a beach bus so I informed TO that I will come and see him after. Once again he started telling me I will come and see you now when we just had 5 minutes left to catch the bus, he didn't care if we were going to be late. He run to me Infront of every one with a cars machine telling me to pay for the trip. I did as I couldn't be asked to argue as my grandparents wanted me to hurry up. He charged me £40 per person, when asked what happened to the original price, he told me it's card charges. Which he never mentioned previously. Cleaners are so eager to finish doing rooms and when they knock in the morning when when you tell them come back later she still tries to get in as she doesn't speak English. So she just walked in in my first morning even though I asked her not to. I was half dressed while she cleaned with doors opened. A singular bus to the beach comes already half full, so people just squeeze on top of each other. When tried going back at 5pm from scheduled time it did not turn up so have to stay till 6pm. The rest of the days came on time. Just over all very stressful experience.non the less half the staff didn't even speak English. Servant at the all inclusive dinner was very rude and dismissed half the time for what I asked at the bar. When I asked for three people's drinks,he served me two and stared at my face as if I asked for his fortunes. Music outdated, mainly old russian music. Swimming pool opened only until 7pm. Pool seats where half broken as it would not go up as plastic at the back was ruined, for some reason it had metal armrests so when tried put my arms out to sunbathe it was impossible as it heated like frying pan. The only positive thing I could say was the food and food variety of it. Smiley chefs and some staff. The hotels paid internet was waste of money. I tried to do my check in online and it timed out multiple of times and in the the end it gave me a code error. Apparently needed to do check in at the airport. Arrived to the airport check in deskm IV been told I need a visa. When I didn't need one. Then she told me again I don't need it and should go straight to bag drop off. I waited there for long just to be told I need a share code. Then not explained fully what it was for. Got sent to self claimed bag area to just be told to wait for someone to come and help me. Told to use their free WiFi which wouldn't work without passport scan which didn't work when tried. Ir asked me to put Turkish tel no so I can get a code to use the internet. Why would I have Turkish no when I am a UK resident. Total eclipse not an airport. Finally someone came to share their hot spot after only when I started to cry and even then I had to beg them to use their internet. Total chaos not an airport, no divided spaces between shops when trying get through terminals, so have to squeeze through people. I would not go back to Antalya again. And I really hoped I would of had a different experience as it supposed to be my first holiday abroad with my grandparents.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We stayed at the Viking Star Hotel in Kemer for a week, and honestly, we had an amazing holiday. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help with anything we needed. The hotel was spotlessly clean throughout our stay, and our room was comfortable with a lovely balcony overlooking the pool. Housekeeping did a great job every day, and we had no complaints at all. The food was good and there was always something for both me and my son to enjoy. If I had one small suggestion, it would be to change the menu a little more often, as it did feel like some of the same dishes were repeated each day. That said, everything was fresh, tasty, and we certainly never went hungry, so it's only a minor point. I also treated myself to a full-body massage in the hotel spa, and I can highly recommend it. The staff were very professional, experienced, and the treatment was excellent value for money. Without a doubt, the biggest highlight of our holiday was the entertainment team. A massive shout-out to Roland, who is an absolute credit to the hotel. As my son and I are English and most of the other guests were Russian or German, Roland went out of his way to make us feel included. He always made time to chat with my son, encouraged him to join in with the daily activities, and made sure we never felt left out. His catchphrase, "No stress!" 😎, became one of the things we'll always remember from the holiday. The whole entertainment team work so hard every single day to make sure everyone has a great time, and they really are the heart of the hotel. They helped turn a great holiday into a truly memorable one. Thank you to everyone at Viking Star Hotel for making our stay so enjoyable. We made some fantastic memories and wouldn't hesitate to return. Highly recommended! Steve Allen & Alfie Allen room 336
