I never write reviews but I feel compelled to after my recent experience at the Apollo Blue. I travelled here with my daughter to celebrate two milestone birthdays for what was supposed to be a special trip. I booked on the basis of the other reviews, photos etc. It also wasn’t cheap even though we were out of season: about £2,000 for the two of us All Inclusive for six nights. On arrival I must say I was shocked by the other reviews and that this hotel markets itself as a 5*: it is not 5* by any stretch of the imagination. The bedrooms are nice and also clean. The bathrooms have not been renovated to match, but ok. The pool area is nice and clean, but small and the pool is freezing to the extent that I didn’t see a single person swimming once. Cocktails included in All Inclusive package are good. Everything else is 3* at best: the service, the entertainment (what entertainment?!), the food, the selection of restaurants and bars (1x buffet, 1x “A La Carte”, one lobby bar). The soft drinks are unbranded and watery, the Prosecco incredibly sweet. Nowhere to eat after 10pm on arrival except some cold pizza and chicken nuggets in the lobby. No pool service or food available outside of the dining times. There is a parade of shops/bars close by but these were all very run down and seedy. The hotel was very quiet (not a bad thing potentially) but as a result attracted a lot of elderly clientele, which also contributed to the lack of any atmosphere whatsoever. Maybe being out of season partially contributed to this. The icing on the cake was on Day 3 when our air conditioning suddenly turned to “heat” and the reception told us that this was because the elderly guests were cold. Apparently there was no way to have this choice by room and we were told to just turn ours off resulting in a very sweaty night’s sleep! Overall we were really disappointed with our stay. So much so, we left half way through and booked into another much nicer hotel nearby. Don’t recommend.
Had a fantastic vacation! The resort was so beautiful and clean. Very friendly staff. We would like to come back soon. It was truly a super experience. Delicious food. The buffet was great every time, lots of variety. The à la carte and Greek evenings were also fantastic. There were 10 of us. 5 rooms. The rooms were great! Also made use of the wellness, very beautiful and relaxing. You can train all muscle groups in the gym too. There are yoga classes and aqua jogging. We made use of the relaxation room, ping pong, pool, air hockey etc. We swam wonderfully in the pools and in the sea, by the pools, the beach, and on all the terraces by the rooms there were very nice sunbeds and everything was super clean. Every evening there was live music, very diverse so for everyone's taste. Diverse barren with a large selection of consumables.
Omelettes, don't bother; the two chefs aren't capable. The two ladies do their best.
