We’ve stayed at Wave Resort two years in a row, it’s so laidback and relaxing, we recommend it to our friends all the time! The Positives: Spacious Rooms: Our corner suite was large, bright, and offered plenty of space for a family of four. Housekeeping was fantastic, even leaving cute daily displays made out of our kids' teddies and blankets. Fantastic Dining: The food in the main buffet and the à la carte restaurants (Ginger was our favorite and we visited twice!) is of much higher quality than most all-inclusive hotels. The pool bar food is also good, though a bit repetitive. No Sunbed Wars: There are always plenty of sunbeds. We easily found great spots around the pool even after a late 11 AM breakfast. Exploring the Area: As the resort is extremely remote, it’s worth taking a Wave Resort taxi from the front of the hotel (€25 each way) into nearby Nessebar, an absolute must—it's a stunning place to visit. The kids loved the day out there! Room for Improvement: Concierge & Communication: Communication fell short this year, specifically the WhatsApp messaging service. We’ve had Wave Deluxe 2 years in a row now but this time we experienced delayed replies (such as basic questions asked at 5 PM going unanswered until 8:30 the next morning), and messages left on read regarding a missing item belonging to our children were never followed up on. When children are involved, proper care and prompt communication go a long way. Splash Park Safety: The kids' splash park needs better oversight on the slides. While a lifeguard is nearby, it tends to be a free-for-all where older kids push past younger children (like my 3 and 5-year-olds) without staff or parents stepping in. The Verdict: At check-out, staff apologised and kindly gave each of our girls a teddy, which was a lovely touch. Overall, we still had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday thanks to the gorgeous rooms, amazing food, and easygoing atmosphere—we just hope the concierge service is more consistent in the future!

The Wave Resort in Bulgaria has been nothing short of magical. From the stunning architecture and beautiful pools to the peaceful views across the Black Sea, it is a place where you can genuinely slow down, breathe and enjoy the moment. What has surprised and delighted me most is seeing just how much Bulgaria has evolved. Having lived in the UK for many years and being accustomed to a very high standard of service, I can genuinely say that Bulgaria no longer simply matches many Western European standards — in many respects, it exceeds them. And I have to give a very special mention to the spa at Wave Resort, because my experience there has been nothing short of exceptional. I am quite particular when it comes to treatments and customer service, and I know what I expect from a high-quality spa. Yet the team here managed not only to meet my expectations, but to exceed them. Rumiana, who runs the spa, deserves a special thank you. She is incredibly efficient and hardworking, but what makes her stand out is the warmth with which she does everything. She always has a smile on her face, makes you feel genuinely welcome, and somehow manages to accommodate every request quickly and effortlessly. With Rumiana, it really feels as though nothing is too much trouble and nothing is impossible. I also had wonderful massages with Lena and Iva, as well as a male therapist whose name I believe was Georgi — my apologies if I haven’t remembered his name correctly! All three were excellent, professional and skilled, and I would happily recommend them. This holiday has also reminded me why this part of Bulgaria is so special. The sea, the sunshine, the wonderful wellness treatments and, of course, Pomorie’s famous healing mud and lye therapies have left me feeling restored, stronger and incredibly grateful. There is something quite emotional about watching a holiday you have loved so much come to an end. Although I leave on Thursday, this isn’t really goodbye… just see you soon.

We stayed at Wave Resort for 11 nights as a family and had a fantastic holiday. I would highly recommend it, particularly for families. The first thing that really stood out was the **cleanliness**. The whole resort was absolutely spotless – our room, the restaurants, pool areas, public toilets and all the communal spaces. Considering the size of the hotel and how busy it was, this was really impressive. Our room was spacious, quiet and very comfortable. There were lots of little touches that made a difference, including a Nespresso machine, a fully stocked minibar included at no extra cost, and even an airer on the balcony which was incredibly useful for drying swimwear and clothes. The **food was mind-blowing**. We ate almost entirely in the Salt & Pepper main buffet restaurant and didn't even make use of the à la carte restaurants, despite them being included in our stay. There was simply so much choice that we never felt the need to go anywhere else. The food court by the pool was also brilliant for snacks throughout the day – you certainly won't go hungry here! The pools were another highlight. We particularly enjoyed the adults-only pool when the children were busy at the waterslide pool or the huge bridge pool. What surprised us most was that even though the hotel was at full occupancy, it never really felt crowded. There were plenty of places to sit and the resort is very cleverly designed so people are spread across different areas. The entertainment was good and the Animation Team worked really hard and did a great job. My only suggestion would be to have **more daytime activities for children**, particularly sporting activities. Quite a few of the organised sports seemed to be for over-18s, which was a shame as our children would definitely have joined in. There are also lots of lovely quieter areas around the resort where you can break away from the main activity, play cards, sit with a drink or just relax. Our children also had massages and really enjoyed the spa area. We used the hotel's free shuttle to Pomorie one day. It was pleasant, although in hindsight we probably would have chosen Sunny Beach as there is more going on there. Nessebar and Sunny Beach are both within easy reach. We also visited the Camel Park, which was absolutely brilliant and incredibly clean and well looked after. The hotel organised our taxi there and the return journey, which made the whole trip completely effortless. Overall, we had a brilliant 11 nights. Beautifully maintained, spotlessly clean, excellent facilities, fantastic pools, incredible food and somehow spacious and relaxing even when full. There really are very few negatives we could find. Highly recommended for a family holiday – we would happily return good value for money.
