I stayed here for a week with a friend recently. The hotel itself is clean, and the buffet restaurant is well stocked, with a good variety of good quality food. The staggering of different snack services means that there is pretty much always food available throughout the whole day. The hotel itself describes itself as a 4 star hotel - however, if you’re expecting something luxurious you would be disappointed. There is a lot crammed into the hotel site and they have made good use of the space that they have available. However, this does mean you can feel like you’re on top of other guests, especially around the pool where they have crammed in as many sun loungers as possible. Some of the facilities and decor also feel a bit dated in the hotel - and it could do with a freshen up with some paint to keep it looking smart and tidy.
Absolute trash. They advertise the place as friendly for kids but the annoying music blasting from below your balcony late at night says otherwise. Our kid couldnt go to sleep until very very late because of the volume. The food is mediocre at best, no taste in anything. The wine you get from the tap is the cheapest you can get. Food labelling is a joke: there's three kinds of meat side by side and no label anywhere on which is supposed to be what and then you have labels for each of the 10 or so vats of french fries.. I think everybody recognizes them even without the labels? Dining areas are noisy as heck. And full of people barging left and right. There's no clear direction anywhere as it looks like the person next to you is moving the opposite direction along the line than you. Always. Plates and cutlery are dirty with spots of food from their previous holder in them quite often. The plastic cups smell like they are likely not washed properly but just given one dunk in the water and off they go to the next user. The elevators look like they are gonna break any day now. Door lock to your room works (kinda) with the wristband but it takes anything from one to more than ten tries to actually get the door open. Room cleaners barge in before 9am so be sure to wake up before they do or nail the "do not disturb" sign on your door. Four stars for this level is a joke.
Food quality was dire, fish, fried foods, repeated daily. Coachroaches walking around on the floor. Poor quality food presentation with complete absence of labelling. Entrecote describes three different meats. Rice was in the bakery section. Restaurant staff are your and unfriendly or when the manager walked around it was more polite but quickly reverted. Plates and cutlery were frequently dirty on base of the plates or foods left on cutlery. Reused plastic cups smelled so it is recommended to rinse or flick out the excess water in them and check for smells across the bar and restaurant. Reception team are the redeeming feature as they are genuinely friendly and helpful. Animation is incredibly poor quality and quite irritating. Pool is clean but the race for the towels being placed each morning from 7.30am is a bit extreme. Bar staff were by far the worst, sour unprofessional quite worrying behaviour of watching everyone and on several occasions Diego pointing at me and my family and then came over to my table repremanding me for having a drink a different customer got me. I paid for this drink subsequently. Dont bother with either all inclusive or all inclusive plus. €14 per day or an €25 per day for all inclusive plus. Dont waste your money at staying in or upgrading. If truth be known pick any other hotel at 3 star or less if you want a hotel like this. Food is bad across all servings and lacks imagination or quality Rooms are decent and comfortable but bathroom is aged. Cockroaches again are present in mornings and evening walking either around the toilet or counter so pack a spray. Lifts not working in two of my families blocks so delays up and down from 8th floor. Restaurant felt and presented more like a student canteen as you were racing for spaces at all meal times. Rushed and impersonal made worse by sour staff and on two occasions a sloppy chef who undercooked the prawns where we had one frozen prawn. Accidents do happen but lack of skill and awareness. This same individuals uniform was not fitting so frequently we got glances of his underpants while out on the floor. My advice to the chefs please dont pour water mixed with chemicals to cool down your hot plate when customers are eating. The toxic fumes are not good and quite poor while people are eating their dinner. Again the management appeared to discuss this with the same chef but sadly it was repeated after their words. All inclusive yet pay for a fridge in your room and deposit and pay for the towels on daily or weekly. My opinion and that of my 5 person group. This hotel is far more closer to 2 or 3 star at a push. Choose a better holiday centre if visiting Gran Canaria An automated email on day 2 of my holiday asking for feedback. I provided this feedback about low quality food and lack of labelling. This went unanswered. When I spoke to the restaurant director who asked for my room number and told the hotel director about the lack of food labelling. Again zero follow up or acknowledgement. Get used to the same salads, cooked chicken dripping in oil, poor quality meat and same cheeses daily for breakfast lunch and dinner and what's not used it is then available throughout the day from the snack bar. Just always make sure your food is either cooked or not burnt like the eggs at breakfast. Hostile staff in bar and restaurant. Poor quality food, presentation of food, lack of any labelling and no follow up from management when raised. This is not what I have come accustomed to as a Servateur hotel which I have used at other properties on the island and recommended to other friends and colleagues.
