Well when you get up cardiac hill it gets no better I stayed for one week never again and I’ve read a lot of reviews about this hotel and I convinced myself it was a different hotel but the hill gave it away and the 150 steps round the back of the hotel. Rooms very poor and had a very musty smell .kitchen rusty equipment so never touched,beds am glad we had towels for sunbed which we never used and used them on the beds , cleaners I saw them having a smoke but never came to our room but they do have a tip box in the room so I never used that , when I opened the wardrobe the blanket could of walked out by its self both me and my sister got bit a lot we have been to alanya many time and never been bitten, what I don’t like more than ever is the fact that the pictures of this villa is absolutely nothing like where we stayed I personally would only give it one

We got to this hotel after midnight and it took the receptionist about 20 mins to check us in… initially couldn’t find my name on the booking( I booked it) and then had the keys and paperwork right by the desk to give me with MY NAME on the envelope. He also couldn’t find the country we’re from on his system so that delayed us even longer and repeatedly asking where we’re from… THE SAME PLACE IN OUR PASSPORTS. Finally got to the room, the pillowcases were creased as though someone had just slept on them, we resorted to using our own clothes to cover the pillows as the mood we were in would’ve escalated any encounter we would have had with the receptionist. Items in the kitchen were rusty and not even a bottle of water to offer as a welcome gift after walking up that hill with my suitcase. The room was dusty. Bathroom mouldy and stinks of sewage on a daily basis. Sewage system may need work as it smelled pissy down in the area where they have the ‘gym’ and massages. Our room is by the receptionist’s desk as well so we hear when it rings in our room. Booked B&B and the food was annoying. I had boiled( most times not boiled thoroughly as the yolk is runny) eggs with bread. We had to ask them for toilet paper, fresh towels and for them to clean the room because putting the ‘clean room’ sign on your door 2 days in a row means nothing. & we thought we were being dramatic and didn’t complain until we met two other pairs of guests who had similar experiences/complains and we were all considering going to different hotels. But you’re already on holiday and the issue of finding another hotel and moving and taking time out of your few days away is sometimes too much to deal with. I’m actually shocked that ppl revisit this villa from reviews. Very basic hotel. There are little things they could do that could make the hotel so much better. All photos are from our first night and an untouched apt. Positives- fresh fruit, spacious apt. Great views. Good clean pools. Didn’t eat there apart from breakfast so cannot comment on the food.

Villa Sonata is a fantastic place to stay, all the staff are really friendly and will help with any problems. Great menu which caters for everyone. The rooms are basic, but all have a decent balcony to sit out in the evening. Both the pools are a good size to have a swim or just a relaxing float. Yes it is at the top of a hill, but the views are amazing, as is the sunset when sat in the restaurant.

Good location right in the heart of the town. Very steep hill so have to be prepared for a sweaty walk every night! Room was unfinished, lots of paint missing, hooks falling off the wall, the toilet flush was broken when we arrived etc. Just didn’t look like it had been finished. Especially as we paid extra for a nicer room. When we asked about the flush it did get fixed the next day which was good, but again we only had the room cleaned 2 times on a 10 day stay. You have to put the door sign out but the rooms don't have doorhandles? And we did this a few times and no one came. When we did get fresh sheets they had stains on. We had a beautiful view however and is a good place if you just need a place to sleep. We ate once at the restaurant and were not blown away it was average and the cocktails were very expensive. We had “kitchen facilities” which was a 20 year old manual stove with very limited plates or cutlery. We used the room literally just for the sleep which is fine for what it is, but I think the photos were misleading and not worth what we paid.
