If you look at the feedback currently available online, it is largely negative and it made me so nervous before the trip so I am posting this to reassure those who have planned a trip, the reality of our stay was the complete opposite of those negative reviews. We had a great time and were thoroughly impressed with the direction the resort is heading. The Apartment: This was the absolute highlight of our trip. We stayed in a deluxe refurbished apartment with a beautiful sea view. It was spotlessly clean, and the beds and mattresses were brand new. Having the bonus of two toilets was brilliant for us travelling as a family of four there were no fights for bathroom use! Food & Dining: The restaurant food was varied, tasty, and fresh, with plenty of options to choose from. While a few local bars and restaurants were sadly closed, a short stroll down the promenade produced a wide variety of alternatives if we fancied a change. We also highly recommend the Grota restaurant, set inside a cave just a seven-minute walk from the apartments. Pool & Beach: The pool area is clean and spacious, and we noticed management actively replacing and increasing the number of sunbeds and umbrellas available and the chlorine levels were checked regularly, as was the general site, several times a day. The nearby beach and sea were absolutely beautiful and pristine. Our apartment was five steps from the pool and 15 steps from the beach - heaven! Amenities & Service: The on-site supermarket was well-stocked with helpful and friendly staff, and the prices were completely in line with, or even lower than, the main supermarkets. The boat taxi was super cheap, convenient, and ran until late. Reception was super helpful throughout our stay; while we did have to ask for new towels, they were delivered promptly whenever requested. No, there is no daily clean - it isn't a hotel, and we are used to this when staying in a lot of Airbnbs, so in anticipation I packed Dr Beckmann Laundry soap and fabric softener, floor cleaning and toilet cleaning dissolvable sheets, which took no space or weight in the luggage. The apartment was provided with new mop bucket, broom and dustpan. In the kitchen there is a tablecloth, sponge, washing up liquid and dish drying towel. There are also all the utensils needed to cook and eat. A fridge/freezer. A microwave, coffee machine and kettle. I hope they continue to renovate and modernise because the resort is moving in completely the right direction for families. I can only guess that some of the reviews come from those who have stayed in the cheaper apartments further away from the waterfront, so it is a question of ensuring that you choose the renovated ones, which cost a little more, but we were there for two weeks, and it represented excellent value for money.

Huge disappointment – accommodation and food do not match the description at al Apartmani Medena are very far from fulfilling the "superior" standard. Upon arrival, the apartment was poorly cleaned. Nobody came to clean during our entire stay, so we had to manage everything ourselves using the mop and bucket provided in the room. Cleaning supplies and dish soap are not provided; you have to buy them yourselves. Towels and bed linen are only changed if you manage to catch the cleaning lady yourself.The catering is an absolute disaster. There are long lines for dinner, the dining room is extremely noisy, the tablecloths are dirty, and the serving utensils at the buffet are messy and covered in food. The food repeats constantly: overcooked rice and pasta turned to mush, dry chicken meat, and french fries that seemed to have been fried back in the morning. While the breakfast selection was decent, the baked pastries were often just reheated from the previous day. Upon our departure at 03:00 AM, the reception did not even offer us a breakfast box, even though we had already paid for that breakfast. The resort itself is completely dead. The promenade was lined with closed venues, and there were only about 4 restaurants operating, serving semi-finished convenience food. The market located under the restaurant is definitely not a supermarket; it is just a tiny, overpriced grocery store with a poor selection. The beach was dirty and unkempt. The sea was clean and nice only in the morning, but by the afternoon it was full of seaweed and dirt. I definitely do not recommend these apartments.

Dirty. Rubbish all over the grounds. Dilapidated buildings, broken concrete steps and footpaths. Not enough sun beds or parasols. Absolutely no shade around the pool. Guests reserve loungers in the early hours and don't return to the loungers until late afternoon. It is unbearable to sit in all day sun as there is no shade and not enough parasols.
